Shaping a sustainable future

The global economy is undergoing fundamental change. Thinking and acting sustainably is playing an increasingly important role – also for the companies within our group.

We welcome this development and are particularly committed to the concept of sustainability, from an economic, ecological and social perspective.

Consequently, we consider environmentally and climate-friendly processes to be of central importance, along with respect for human rights and social responsibility for our employees – both at home and abroad.

We are firmly convinced that only those who think of the future today and adopt a sustainable approach will be able to achieve their goals in the long term.

This is why the Neukirchen Group is involved in a wide range of different areas and actively embraces responsibility.

Helping people to help themselves: In Malaysia, the health care system as we know it does not exist. If you cannot work, you do not get paid. To ensure that none of our employees go hungry, we have created a vegetable garden on our site, which our employees cultivate together. If a colleague falls ill, the vegetables grown there can be used to feed his or her family.

Protecting nature: at our forestry operation Metsä Oy in Pielavesi, Finland, we not only sustainably manage 2,400 hectares of forest, but we also leave around 450 hectares completely untouched in the form of a nature reserve. This allows moors, rare small biotopes and the landscapes around bodies of water to develop naturally, making an important contribution to environmental and climate protection.

Repurposing old land: Since 2022, a total of 3,150 hectares of pastureland in Uruguay have been reforested and sustainably cultivated by BUGNAVILLA SAS, a company founded by KNG. This is an area the size of more than 4,400 soccer pitches. In this way, KNG is also making an important contribution to climate protection in South America and supporting the local economy through sustainable pulp production.

Empowering strong people Projects for equality

All people are equal. The Neukirchen Group also embraces this fundamental right and rigorously implements it. With various internal projects on equality and inclusion, but also by financially supporting initiatives and programmes that champion this cause, on a regional, national and, of course, international level.

The power of nature. For over 100 years, Seeger Orbis has stood for innovation. Not only when it comes to products and their manufacture, but now also in the area of environmental and climate protection. Since 2020, the company has used electricity generated exclusively from renewable sources, and since 2024, biogas has been added to the mix. This has significantly reduced the company's CO2 consumption – for the sake of the environment.

Our values, our commitment

For many years, KNG's thinking and actions have been guided by the values enshrined in the Neukirchen family's philosophy. These values are the basis for the ALNOA formula, which, in turn, embodies the company's core values and has become a central component of our corporate philosophy.

We follow the 7 generations concept. Through sustainability, we leave behind a world worth living in for future generations.

O – Openness
When it comes to managing our company, we believe in openness, fairness and trust in all areas and processes.

A – Advancement
We are continuously developing ourselves, our processes and our company in order to remain successful in the long term.

Policy Statement on Human Rights

In December 2024, on the basis of our corporate values, we adopted a policy statement on human rights, thus creating another important building block in our ethical framework.

In this policy statement, we commit to clearly defined rules that enable us to meet our own standards of sustainable and fair conduct.

But we do more than pay mere lip service to these principles: our central compliance organization ensures that these principles, which are binding for all KNG employees, are also implemented.
